History of this email:
I created an email in 2006 and I sent that email to Nancy Lucht and to many other people using Alta PC. That email is still sitting on Alta PC in this location : Email backed up on 6/4/08 : Luchts / Nancy Lucht date 11.24.06 Subject: The Dancing Wu Li Masters.
Using sneakernet between Alta and Black, I was able to cause this email to appear on the screen of Black PC so I could do a screengrab of it ( this is just email text with no attachment),
As I can see on Alta, my The Dancing Wu Li Masters email has an attachment named phys.doc. When I double-click I can see that phys.doc is a Word doc I sent out in a broadcast email back in 2006 and it looks good. But it is on Alta.
Question: How can I get that Word doc on my Back PC desktop?
Answer: Go onto Alta and locate the email in this location : Email backed up on 6/4/08 : Luchts / Nancy Lucht date 11.24.06 Subject: The Dancing Wu Li Masters.
Next, on Alta-right click on this phys.doc and say Save As and then save the file on the Alta Desktop as phys.doc. We can then close Tbird on Alta.
Next insert the Emtec A jump drive into slot a on Alta PC. It comes up as ESD-USB (F:). Now find file phys.doc on the Alta Desktop and drag it onto the F drive. Done. Now do Safely Remove Hardware from the Alta slot and then remove that jump drive. Then plug that jump drive into Black and locate the file phys.doc and move that to the Black desktop. Done. Do Safely Remove (aka Eject) from Black. Then put that jump drive away.
I now have the file phys.doc sitting on the Black desktop which was the goal!
I now see that I did this before with another sequence and I still have Wu Li Masters-PHL.doc sitting on the Black Desktop. That is fine.
